The entire time I’ve been in LA, I’ve had a huge fear of getting fired. It’s like an opposing army blowing up the bridge on your road to success.

How do we console ourselves when others (or even we) call into question the value in what we do? How do we cope?

The staff at my coffee shop of choice is now aware of what’s happening behind my crinkled forehead on weekend afternoons. The fact remains: no one’s reading my book.

I didn’t choose to be sober to be a better anything except a human being. But the process of facing my fear allowed me to become a better artist.

Life has been hitting me on the head a bit harder lately, and I’m figuring out how to deal with it, emotionally, professionally and creatively.
